Position Summary

As our Dental Assistant, you’ll be an indispensable part of our daily operations, ensuring that each visit runs smoothly and comfortably for our patients. Your role will encompass both clinical and administrative duties, blending hands-on patient care with behind-the-scenes support.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and arrange dental materials to maintain a safe and efficient workflow.

· Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patients’ comfort and the dentist’s efficiency.

· Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed.

· Educate patients on oral hygiene, pre- and post-operative care, and answer their questions with patience and clarity.

· Record and update patient medical and dental histories in our digital system.

· Schedule appointments, handle billing and insurance queries, and maintain accurate records in tandem with our reception team.

· Monitor inventory of supplies and place orders as needed.

· Uphold clinic protocols for infection control, privacy, and safety.

· Act as a reassuring presence to patients of all ages, from young children to seniors.

Who We’re Looking For

· Experience: Previous dental assisting experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate or recent graduate who brings dedication and a positive attitude.

· Certification: Phase II Canadian Dental Assistant Certification and registered in Manitoba.

· Communication Skills: You’re warm, clear, and professional in your interactions with patients, families, and teammates.

· Attention to Detail: You take pride in your work and always strive for accuracy and quality.

· Team Spirit: You’re a collaborator at heart, ready to pitch in wherever needed and eager to help others succeed.

· Compassion: You understand that a dental office visit can cause anxiety for some, and you know how to put patients at ease.

· Reliability: You show up on time, follow through on tasks, and communicate proactively about your availability.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with dental software and digital recordkeeping

· Certification in CPR and first aid

· Ability to speak a second language is an asset but not required

· Enthusiasm for patient education and community outreach

· Experience in or willingness to learn orthodontic or surgical assisting.

Position is in-person, 4-5 days per week within Monday to Friday during clinic hours. Shorter hours during the summer.

Willing to match previous hourly pay (within MB or SK) upon proof for qualified candidates. Clinic has profit sharing bonus system and offers competitive benefits. Potential relocation moving bonus (within Canada) available with a term commitment.

Registered Dental Hygienist

We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about providing top-quality dental care to patients.

Qualifications:

  • Canadian Dental Hygiene Diploma or equivalent
  • Existing Manitoba Dental Hygienist Association license or pending registration for students
  • Current CPR certification
